David S. Evans
David S. Evans is an economist, business adviser, and entrepreneur. He has consulted for many of the largest multisided platform businesses in the world, including four of the five largest by market cap, and has served as an adviser to a number of start-up matchmakers. He is the author, coauthor, or editor of ten books and has written more than one hundred scholarly articles, including several of the most highly cited articles on the economics of multisided platforms. David’s most recent book is Matchmakers: The New Economics of Multisided Platforms, co-authored with Richard Schmalensee. Published by Harvard Business Review Press in 2016, it won the Gold Medal, Economics, for the 2017 Axiom Best Business Book Awards. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, from which he earned a BA, an MA, and a PhD, all in economics.
