Ron Mann - Download Biography
Ron, a Managing Director at Market Platform Dynamics, is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of payments, electronic commerce, and intellectual property. A highly respected legal scholar who is a professor at Columbia University Law School, he has clerked with Justice Powell on the Supreme Court, worked in the Solicitor General’s Office at the U.S. Department of Justice, and has appeared as a lawyer before the Supreme Court and several appellate courts.
Ron is the author of Charging Ahead: The Growth and Regulation of the Payment Card Industry which Cardline and Payment News recommend highly for its insights into this industry. He is also the author and co-author of several leading case law books including Payment Systems and Other Financial Transactions and Electronic Commerce. He has also written extensively on intellectual property in the software industry.
Ron founded the Texas Center for Law, Business and Economics, where he served as co-director and is also a member of the American Law Institute. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and his B.A. from Rice University.
